HARRY POTTER is about to get some extra magic and enter a new dimension.

Sections of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be shot in 3D for IMAX audiences.

A total 25 minutes of the film, including the opening sequence and the finale, will be given the 3D treatment and audiences will be alerted to each part with a symbol on the screen, such as a wand.

The film, which stars DANIEL RADCLIFFE, EMMA WATSON, RUPERT GRINT and MICHAEL GAMBON, will now be released on July 17 2009, eight months later than its original November date.

In the UK IMAX cinemas are having Harry Potter 3D, I'm not sure if it's the same in other countries though.
